Letter: Just one call would help

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am writing to let the citizens of Gloucester be aware of a situation my family is experiencing in your county. You will be electing a sheriff in November. I would like to share what we have had to go through with Sheriff Gentry for the last six months.

I am the uncle of Craig Conway who has been missing since Jan. 21, 2011. Last seen on Low Ground Road, walking with no wallet, little money and only the clothes he was wearing.

We have asked for help from your sheriff many times to no avail. Our last effort was to get cadaver dogs to search the last area he was seen in. We talked to four different groups and all are willing to search, at no cost to the county. All that is required is that Sheriff Gentry make the request by phone call. He has refused to make that call.

I say to the voters of Gloucester County is this the kind of sheriff you want to reelect in November? This could be your loved one and this could happen to your family. We are not asking...
