Letter: A new middle school is worth the cost

In April of 2011, Gloucester County and the surrounding areas received devastating damage from multiple tornadoes. The storms left Page Middle School almost in complete ruins. To finish the school year and complete the 2011-2012 school year, Page was given temporary placements at Peasley Middle School and Gloucester High School. After the dust settled, it was time to decide what action to take toward giving the students and staff a permanent placement and a building to call their own.

Gloucester County and the school board had decided whether they would build a new school building or rebuild on the remnants of the old school. The school board decided they wanted to build a new middle school on land off T.C. Walker Road that the school board owns. This is the best decision that could have been made, considering all of the factors.
