Legacy for Gloucester Citizens to hold reception Oct. 11

The Legacy for Gloucester Citizens will celebrate the legacy of the past and honor the present at a reception from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena.
This year, the program will celebrate the legacy of the late Henry Booker Myers and honor the Rev. Stevens A. Burrell. Myers, who passed away in 1977, was owner/operator of Myers Construction Co. of Hayes. Burrell is the pastor of Gleaning Baptist Church. Last year’s honorees were Marion Randall and the late Rev. Fred Carter.
