Lee-Jackson Elementary School will hold its annual Fall Festival from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event will take place outside behind the school.
Youth of all ages will be able to take a hay ride and a pony ride, have their face painted, take part in the cake walk, and create their own fall necklaces or frames at the craft tables.
There will be over 10 games including the Quarterback Toss, Flip a Chicken, Ring the Pumpkin and the Cow Milking Contest. Festival-goers will also be able to try out the inflatable Mega Slide, the Obstacle Course, the Moonwalk and Baby Dino Land for the younger attendees.
Homemade fall treats will be on sale including caramel apples, chocolate pretzel rods, pumpkin muffins and cake pops. Cotton candy will also be available, and Lou Ann Diggs will be mixing up her famous limeades.
Tickets will be on sale at the festival for 50 centseach, 12 for $5, or 25 for $10. A 50/50 raffle will also be held that day. The drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m. and entrants must be present to win. All proceeds will go to the Lee-Jackson PTA to cover festival expenses.
"This is not a fundraiser for us. Instead, it’s a way for the PTA to show that school, especially elementary school, should be a place where kids can not only learn and grow their minds, but also come to have fun and socialize with their friends at fun events like the fall festival," said Lynda Smith Greve, a member of the school’s PTA board.
