Lady Dukes start season strong

chool varsity softball team has started its season strong, currently holding four wins under its belt.

Gloucester beat the Hampton Crabbers, 39-2, during the March 14 season opener. The Lady Dukes had a total of 26 hits during the game. Lead hitter was Kayla Pasipanki with five hits and six RBIs. Pasipanki hit two doubles in the first inning, one triple in the third inning and a home run and single in the fifth inning.

Kaia Hutton had four hits and seven RBIs, and Sam Carlton and Alexis Dishman added three hits each. Sadie Bowden, Shyanne Carlton and Cameron Palas all had two hits each. One of Palas’s hits was a home run and she also had five RBIs. Chicky Boles pitched three innings.

Gloucester faced Hampton again last Thursday, beating the Crabbers, 19-0, at home. Bowden pitched a no-hitter and struck out 11 batters. Up to bat, she also contributed a double in the win. Shyanne Carlton added a double and had four RBIs, while Pasipanki hit a double and had three RBIs.
