Lady Dukes defeat Woodside, Heritage

The Gloucester High School varsity softball team defeated Woodside and Heritage this past week.

The Lady Dukes defeated the Wolverines, 18-1, at home last Thursday. Gloucester scored six runs in the first inning. Kaia Hutton, Cameron Palas, Shyanne Carlton and Sadie Bowden all had RBI singles in the inning. Makayla Hernandez also had an RBI.

Bowden gave up three hits and one run to pick up the victory; she walked one batter and struck out seven. Bowden had two hits and two RBIs.

Also during the game, Hutton had three hits, including a long double and two RBIs; Palas added a two-run home run in the second inning and three RBIs for the day.

Heritage

The Lady Dukes defeated the Heritage Hurricanes, 17-0, as Bowden pitched three perfect innings and Chicky Boles followed with two scoreless innings Tuesday afternoon. Bowden struck out six out of nine hitters, while Boles struck out three.
