Kraken 12U falls in doubleheader

The Baystars Kraken 12U baseball team played a doubleheader Sunday against the Hampton Roads Hurricanes at Zook Field in Yorktown losing both by scores of 9-8 and 7-5.

In game one, Joey Chwalik was the starting pitcher and allowed two earned runs on eight hits over four innings and recorded three strikeouts. Brandon Hubbard pitched in the second game and allowed only one run and three hits over five innings, while striking out seven.

In the two games, Hubbard tallied three hits, including a home run. Chwalik had four hits over the two games including a double and a home run. Jackson Koch had two hits in each game and two stolen bases. Bradley Price had an RBI double. Each of the four players earned a game ball.
