Knights lose to Hurricanes

The Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League teams suffered losses against the Tri-Citi Hurricanes of Newport News over the weekend.

The Gloucester Red Knight Mighty Mites team lost its game Saturday, 19-14. Gloucester’s offense was led by Tyrell Daisy who had 124 yards and two touchdowns. Durrall Daisy had 39 yards, Caleb Beyer had 17 yards, and Declan Schneider kicked an extra point field goal, scoring two points.

The defense was led by Tyrell who had six tackles. Brayden Mikkelson had three tackles and two sacks, Camden Pluim had four tackles, Schneider had three tackles and one sack, and Ayden Harris and Elijah Pluim each tackled three times. Xavier Broughman was the dominant blocker.

The Red Knight 12U team was defeated by the Hurricanes, 22-0. Matthew Proud rushed for a total of 25 yards and had a 20-yard pass. Kevin McNulty rushed for 30 yards and had two receiving catches. Lamont Frazier rushed for 20 yards and Noah Potter rushed for 15 yards.
