JV Duke wrestlers compete in Grizzly Holiday Classic

The Gloucester High School JV wrestling team took the mat at Grassfield High School for the annual Grizzly Holiday Classic on Saturday.

Christian Hartz (132 lbs.) kept the momentum going from last week’s first-place finish earning another gold medal performance. He won each of his bouts, two by decision and one by fall. He faced teammate Michah Bodiford in the championship match and secured the win in a tightly contested 4-2 decision. Bodiford wrestled at a high level going 2-1 overall securing victories by way of a pin and a major decision.

Also finding his way to the gold medal was Joey Foley (220 lbs.). He secured a 3-0 record, earning two wins by fall. Jordan Pryor locked down second place behind Foley finishing with a 2-1 record winning by way of a fall and a decision.Tyler Hawkey (152 lbs.) made his way back to the mat this week and scrapped his way to the Championship Finals. He finished in second place with a 2-1 record and earned a 17-0 technical fall victory.
