Joyce named secretary of state procurement group

Gloucester Purchasing Agent Christine Joyce was recently named secretary of the Virginia Association of Governmental Procurement, which serves as the commonwealth’s chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Procurement.

VAGP represents more than 1,000 procurement professionals, with representatives from state and local governments, educational institutions, special authorities and more, all dedicated to advancing public procurement through continued education and networking.

Joyce will begin her duties in January. Some of her responsibilities will include recording minutes of all business meetings, maintaining all correspondence relative to the VAGP in a professional manner, and more.

A Gloucester native, Joyce has been involved in professional procurement for the past decade, working in both the local government and school sectors.
