John D. Navarrete, a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of Hayes, Va., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. He was born on Sept. 19, 1946.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert; mother, Daphne; sister, Alice; brothers, Albert and Alfonso; daughter, Rose, and grandson Dougie. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; children, Violet (Kevin), Renee, Marvin; brothers, Bobby and Joe; his grandchildren, Ashley, Kenny, Amanda, Stacey, Michael, Keith, Onna, Steven, Megan, Victoria, Joy, Jessica, Kaylee, Taylor, and Marissa; 25 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
