J. PAUL CORDILL

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of J. Paul Cordill of Gloucester County, on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Throughout his journey of 65 years, JP touched many people’s lives with his integrity, respect, humor and an unwavering spirit of perseverance and fairness. That spirit which characterized his life translated into life lessons that he earnestly imparted on those he loved and we were all the better for it. In his pursuit of truth JP was the kind of person this world needs, a reminder that love without prejudice exists.

JP’s passions were cooking, coffee, gardening and music. He was a gourmet chef who loved to feed family and friends; his feasts were legendary. We were all welcomed with a smile and his trademark expression ‘Cool Beans!’ He had an infectious laugh and a special way of making people feel seen and heard. An animal lover, he doted on his dogs, the late Leon and Alice, and Simon, his failed attempt at fostering.

He enjoyed several interesting fields of work including historic interpretation and state and park administration. His love of coffee manifested into opening a successful coffee roasting business with his beloved spouse, Paul Wynkoop whom he met in college in 1978. Partners in life and business, they enjoyed travelling through Europe and America.

JP, you may be gone from our sight but you are never gone from our hearts. Rest in ever loving peace.

JP is survived by his spouse, Paul Wynkoop; his sisters, Betty Gayle Cordill and Glenna Jean Cordill; nephews, Robert McCutcheon and Christopher Gray. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Elmer Cordill; mother, Mary (Levisa) Gladys Bales, and his sister, Patricia Elaine Cordill.

A celebration of JP’s life will be held at a later date.

Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
