Lt. Colonel William Cecil Wright, of Gloucester, a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, passed away on Wednesday August 26, 2026, from kidney failure, at the age of 91. The son of Cecil and Mae Wright, Bill was born in Luxora, Arkansas, and grew up in Forrest City, Arkansas. At the age of 22, Bill enlisted in the Air Force. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Lt. Colonel. As Part of his service, Bill was awarded the A.F. Commendation Medal, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, (one cluster and two cluster), and the Bronze Star. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy, and his son, Michael. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Blair), and his son John, as well as two grandchildren, Keegan and Amber. Bill and Dorothy will be inurned together in Arkansas.
