Indie band from Gloucester making a name for itself

A new indie band from Gloucester is quickly making a name for itself in the area rock scene. 

Barely a year into working together, the musicians of Elements and Artifacts have already released an EP and drawn large crowds at the Summer Rockfest Showcase at the Norva. They are also gearing up to open for the group Assuming We Survive, who are fresh off their own appearance at Vans Warped Tour.

The band is comprised of lead guitarist Kenny Epling, front man Eric Kennedy, rhythm guitarist Jordan Gonzales, bassist Rob Fehrman, and drummer Chris Wagoner. All the members hail from Gloucester except Fehrman, who resides in Newport News.

“We’re indie rock and alternative,” said Gonzales of their style, “kinda like a softer version of The Killers.”

The group plays a fair amount of original music at their gigs, but does also cover fan favorites like Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So” and “The Quiet Things” by Brand New.
