HITW files request for emergency injunction

Hole in the Wall Waterfront Grill has filed a request for an emergency injunction in Mathews Circuit Court against both the Mathews County Board of Supervisors and County Administrator Ramona Wilson. The action is in response to the board of supervisors’ July 10 unannounced eviction of Hole in the Wall from county-owned property the restaurant leases at 384 Old Ferry Road on Gwynn’s Island.
Claiming that the board is in “blatant violation” of the 2016 lease, the motion asks that the court order the board to immediately provide Hole in the Wall access to the premises pending a full hearing on the request for the injunction.
Additionally, the business has filed a complaint for damages, asking the court to award it $80,000 for losses incurred between the time the restaurant was closed on July 10 and the date the request for the injunction was filed on July 21.
