HeartChase scavenger hunt to raise money for AHA

A unique challenge will be hitting Main Street in Gloucester Saturday morning. HeartChase Gloucester, a benefit to raise money for the American Heart Association, will have well over 30 teams participating in a giant scavenger hunt, all in an effort to help the community and the AHA “chase away” heart disease for good.

HeartChase events are held throughout the country on a regular basis and Gloucester’s challenge was orchestrated by resident and county attorney Ted Wilmot, who lost his daughter Kendall to heart disease a year ago Sunday. She was only 20 years old.

Kendall Wilmot was a senior at Virginia Tech’s business school in Blacksburg at the time of her death. She received her degree posthumously and ended up graduating magna cum laude.
