The foursome of Johnny Fleet, E.G. Fleet, Pierce Lambert and Greg Rogers scored a 56 in the annual Virginia Grain Open Golf Tournament, earning the team a first-place finish in the first flight of the tournament which was held on Aug. 5 at the Piankatank River Golf Club, Hartfield.

Other winners were:

Second flight, first place—Joey Barlow, Conner Miller, Mike Batkins and Joe Bidwell (59); second place—Rusty Green, Curtis Packett, William Ambrose and Latane Bowie (62). Third flight, first place—Tom Hardiman, Michael Chalkey and Matthew Self (63); second place—Paul Davis, Keith Black, Jon Black and Dan Foley (63).
