The Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association hosted its annual Golf Invitational on Thursday, June 29 at the Piankatank River Golf Club, Hartfield. This year’s theme was “The Roaring ’20s Cha Cha Charleston” with festivities, raffles, food and fun organized by planning committee co-chairs Gloria Matthews, Donna Lange and Michele Meanley.
Twenty-four teams comprised of 96 women from the surrounding area as well as from regional destinations and other golf clubs and courses participated in the team game of “Cha-Cha-Cha.”

Winners were:

Overall Gross—Pat Tyrrell, Renee Willis, Joani Orr and Donna Bohlin. Overall Net—Mary Jones, Lisa Lavery, Debbie Earman and Roseanne Moncure.

First Flight, First Net: Linda Knight, Kary Nicholson, Helen Rosson and Mary Beth Huneke. First Flight, Second Net: Linda Nelms, Donna Shepard, Christi Watkins and April Dampier. First Flight, Third Net: Nina Carter, Ellen McGowan, Martha Wiggs and Christi Lewis.

Second Flight, First Net: Joanne Crawford, Debbie Boucher, Felica Forest and Beth Murray. Second Flight, Second Net: Sue Silberhorn, Judy Spain, Kim Crannis-Curl and Bonnie Stuck. Second Flight, Third Net: Christy Pitts, Pamela James, Lynette Sawyer and Vicky Gunn.

Third Flight, First Net: Chong Hudgins, Kay Uhler, Karen Gorin and Ann Stanley. Third Flight, Second Net: Alice Kauss, Cathy Cope, Ann Fulk and Debbie Muller. Third Flight, Third Net: Lisa Karl, Marny Richardson, Chrystal Welsh and Carol Sennott.

Contest winners were: Closest to the Pin Par 3’s: Donna Bohlin, Christi Watkins, Neva Cashwell and Mary Beth Huneke. Longest Drive: Joy Cimborke and Straightest Drive: June Klink.
