Harper takes over head coaching duties at CCS

Glenn Harper of Hartfield, who most recently was Mathews High School’s varsity girls’ basketball coach, will step into the same role with Christchurch School for the 2023-2024 season, CCS Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities John Dehm announced last week.

Harper joined the CCS community in 2022 as the school’s Director of Operations. He also brings plenty of coaching experience to the table, Dehm said.

Harper was the assistant varsity coach and head JV girls’ basketball coach at Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond from 2010-14. From 2014-16 he was an assistant and then head girls’ varsity basketball coach at Saint Gertrude High School in Richmond. The team qualified for the state tournament in all three years, and in Harper’s year as head coach, the team won a first-round playoff game for the first time in 10 years.
