The Gloucester Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that took the life of a Lancaster man early Friday morning. GSO Capt. J.W. Schick Jr. identified the victim as Hezekiah Fauntleroy Jr., 20, of White Stone.

Schick said the GSO responded to the 7700 block of Colonial Point Lane in Gloucester Point at about 1 a.m. Friday regarding the report of gunshots at Colonial Point Apartments. He said deputies arrived to find a man who had been shot lying unconscious in the parking lot.

After deputies secured the scene, Schick said personnel with the Abingdon Volunteer Rescue Squad arrived and determined the man, later identified as Fauntleroy, was deceased.

Schick said his office is asking anyone with information that might help in the investigation of this case to contact the GSO at 804-693-3890.
