GMHS seeks donations for Angel Fund on GivingTuesday

The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society is seeking to raise $10,000 for the shelter’s Angel Fund this coming Tuesday for GivingTuesday.

The shelter’s Angel Fund provides non-routine, life-saving veterinary care for homeless pets, including those who need surgery, suffer from rare treatable muscular or neurological diseases, or require expensive treatments for ailments above and beyond basic preventative care.

“Shimmer” the hound is one of the many pets at GMHS whose life was saved by the Angel Fund in the past year. She arrived at the shelter underweight and in desperate need of eye surgery. Now fully recovered, Shimmer has been adopted.

“The GMHS team and I are grateful to our friends and supporters for making possible life-saving surgeries and treatments for our homeless pets,” said shelter manager Erin Tankersley. “Your support gives pets the second chance needed to lead lives filled with good health and the love and comfort of a forever family.”
