The 12th annual Golf Classic to benefit the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic was held Friday, Aug. 19, at Piankatank River Golf Club, Hartfield. More than 100 community members hit the course, raising $28,000+ which will be used for patient programs, resources, medication and staffing. Tournament winners were:

First flight: Michael Nunes, Daniel Carver, Aaron Cothern and Fritz Frederickson (first place); Hugh Bryan III, Hugh Bryan IV, Randy Pansch and Tim Raines (second place). Second flight: Bob Davis, Mike Newman, Randy Baxter and Mathews Burroughs (first place); Jody Puhlman, Joshua Puhlman, Cheryl Morton and Nick Berghorst (second place).

Third flight: Brian Williams, Lauren Cherry, Craig Lynch and Patrick Nugent (first place); Rob Fallon, Dotti Porter, Adam Davis and Scott James (second place).

A special award was presented to the tournament’s “most seasoned” team of Sue Silberhorn, Eva Mullins, Sarah Finney and Vivian Shackelford, which boasted a combined age of 329. Aft...
