Gloucester’s emergency coordinator speaks to NARFE chapter

Jane Wenner, Gloucester County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, addressed the members of Chapter 1757 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees at that group’s monthly meeting on Aug. 16 at Olivia’s in the Village, Gloucester.

Wenner discussed the new Gloucester “Bee Alert” emergency notification system and the need to sign up with the new system even if you had already signed up with the former alert system. She also gave helpful information on preparing for and dealing with emergency situations, including natural disasters that could affect the county.

Marilyn Riddle of Williamsburg, Area 1 Vice President of the NARFE Virginia Federation which includes the Gloucester chapter, shared background information about the Virginia Federation and other local chapters. The next meeting of NARFE Chapter 1757 will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Olivia’s. All active and retired federal employees are encouraged to attend.
