The Gloucester Department of Social Services will be closed on Friday, Sept. 20.  Residents needing assistance may visit CommonHelp.virginia.gov to make application for benefit programs (SNAP, Medicaid, etc.) or call 1-855-635-4370.

Residents may also use the agency drop box, located just outside the building entrance at 6641 Short Lane, Gloucester, to leave applications, information or other paperwork.

For those needing to report suspected child abuse or neglect, reports may be made to the Virginia Child Abuse hotline at 1-800-552-7096. 

For persons needing to report suspected adult abuse, neglect or exploitation, reports may be made to the Virginia Adult Abuse hotline at 1-888-832-3858.

Normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. will resume on Monday, Sept. 23. ...
