Gloucester PRT programs offered

THE FULL HIKE: Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring The Full Hike, an approximately nine-mile trek from one end of Beaverdam Park to the other, starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. The group will meet at Beaverdam Park’s main entrance, where they will be shuttled to the Fary’s Mill Road entrance and hike the trail back to the main entrance. Participants are encouraged to bring water and snacks, wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline is Sept. 19.
FISHING WORKSHOPS: A kids’ freshwater fishing workshop will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Beaverdam Park. Join park staff to learn about freshwater fishing. The registration fee is $15 and the deadline is Sept. 20. The following day, Sunday, Sept. 28, a kids’ saltwater fishing workshop will be held from 2-5 p.m. at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes.
