This past weekend, several members of the Gloucester Pickleball Club participated in the second annual Laaser Ladybug Classic in Richmond. Not only was this tournament a sanctioned event by USA Pickleball, it also supported the mission of co-founders Jon and Renée Laaser “Laaser’s Ladybug Society.” More than 263 players participated in the three-day tournament. GPC players Joyce Coles and Lanell Jarvis placed first among 15 teams in Women’s doubles 3.0 level 19+, 35+, 50+ 60+ age division. Rick Parkin and Carlos Morales placed second in the Men’s doubles 3.0 level 50+, 60+ age division. Antonio Morales and John Jarvis placed third in Men’s doubles 3.5 level 19+ division. Joyce Coles and Carlos Morales placed first from among 15 teams in Mixed Doubles 3.0 level 19+, 35+, 50+, 60+ age divisions. After losing the first game, 7-11, in the gold medal match, Coles and Morales came back with intensity and won their last two games by scores of 11-3, 11-6....
