Gloucester HeartChase returns for second year on May 16

The American Heart Association’s HeartChase is coming back to Gloucester for a second year.

This year’s event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 16, starting at the court circle. Last year, more than $20,000 was raised, and Gloucester set a record for most teams ever at a first-year HeartChase with 64.

Similar to a giant scavenger hunt, HeartChase Gloucester offers participants a creative way to explore Main Street, have a good time and contribute to an important cause. Teams meet at Game Central on the morning of the event and use the HeartChase app to navigate around the Game Map to find Checkpoint Challenges.

Each challenge is a five-minute game, with successful teams earning points. Teams race to complete as many challenges as possible before time runs out, and the team with the most points will be crowned champion.
