Gloucester Democrats to hold seafood dinner next week

The Gloucester County Democratic Committee will host its annual Seafood Dinner and Fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, 8784 Guinea Road, Hayes.
The event will feature a catered seafood dinner provided by Shelly Williams Catering, offering a variety of seafood dishes, sides, desserts and more. The evening will also include a performance by Joey and the Jammers, along with a silent auction.
A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Impact Award, named in memory of Eldridge N. Cook, a Gloucester businessman, civic leader and philanthropist. This year’s honoree is Roberta “Bobby” Ray, recognized for her volunteerism and dedication to the Gloucester community.
The event will feature Sen. Lamont Bagby as the keynote speaker. Representing Richmond, Henrico and Charles City in the Senate of Virginia, he also serves as chair of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
