Gloucester County’s Department of Information Technology received the 2012 Digital Counties Survey Award from the e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government recently.

Gloucester was in the top 10 among counties of fewer than 150,000 residents to receive the award, according to Scott Varner, applications integration coordinator for Gloucester’s DIT.

The focus of this year’s survey was evaluating the results achieved through the use of technology in the areas of adaptive leadership, computing, networking, applications, security governance, project management, funding, energy management, continuity, disaster recovery, performance benchmark reporting, citizen engagement through a web presence, and innovation, Varner said.

This is the fifth time the county’s DIT has received the award.
