Three late-season catches of speckled trout have qualified local anglers for citations from the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament, according to the latest update on vasaltwaterjournal.com.
Matthew Pierro of Gloucester received a citation for a 5-pound, 3-ounce trout caught on bucktail grub Nov. 26 in the lower York River.
William Flippin of Hayes won a citation for a 6-pound, 5-ounce fish caught Nov. 18 in the James River casting lures; and, Jay Brown of Hayes won a citation for an 8-pound, 11-ounce fish caught Nov. 18 while jigging lures in the James River.
