Glenns crash

A 37-year-old Chesapeake man crashed his 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche into a vacant building on Route 17 at Glenns at about 10:14 p.m. Saturday night. Sgt. J.A. Teagle of the Virginia State Police office in Gloucester said the King and Queen Sheriff’s Office was pursuing the vehicle travelling east on Route 33. At the Route 17 intersection, the Avalanche struck a vehicle travelling southbound on Route 17 before crossing the median and northbound Route 17 lanes and striking the former bank building. The driver of the Avalanche was transported with serious injuries to the VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Teagle said, and charges in the crash are pending. He said there were no injuries in the crash involving the southbound vehicle.
