GHS wrestlers beat Denbigh, 48-27

The Gloucester High School wrestling team faced off against the Denbigh Patriots last Wednesday, winning the bout by a 48-27 margin.

GHS head coach James Cook said Denbigh was a physically tough challenge for his team which made the wrestlers focus on their technique in order to come out on top.

Cook praised Josh Seaton and Ethan Baker for their undefeated seasons thus far. He also gave nods to Adam Eckstein and Joey Foley who have only suffered one loss each.

Before winter break, the varsity wrestlers will head to Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach on Wednesday for the Toys for Tots event, while the JV wrestlers head to a match at Tabb High School on the same day.

Following the break, the Dukes will host Hampton and Kecoughtan on Jan. 5.
