The Gloucester High School boys’ and girls’ varsity volleyball teams traveled to face the Woodside Wolverines Tuesday evening on the road.
The Dukes defeated Woodside in three straight sets (25-19, 25-23, 25-10). Grayson Shield had three kills, one ace, one solo block, two digs and 20 assists; Gavin Blanks had six kills, two aces and two digs; Hayden Simmons had 10 kills, one ace, two solo blocks, one block assist and three digs; Colter Callis had six kills, six aces, one solo block, seven digs and one assist; Ryan Williams had three kills and one solo block; Bruce Miller had one kill and one assist; Tabb Hogge had two aces; Ryan McCullough had one ace, three digs and one assist; and Jesse Manheim had one dig.
The Lady Dukes did not fare as well as they fell to the Lady Wolverines in three sets (25-16, 25-23, 25-14). Samantha Carlton had four aces and one kill; Keira Tidwell had one kill and one block, Jenaye Oberlin had one kill; Ava Hutton had three aces and one kill; Nadia Oberlin had one kill and one block; Amanda Stafford had one block; and Shyanne Carlton had two aces.
Gloucester will travel to face the Kecoughtan Warriors this evening, but will return home on Tuesday to play the Hampton Crabbers.
