GHS track performs well at district meet

The Gloucester High School indoor track team competed in the Peninsula District Meet at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Both the girls and the boys performed well against other teams in the district. There were many top 10 performances on both the track and on the field.

On the girls’ side, Deziray Bellinger placed fourth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.71. Bellinger also placed 10th in the 300-meter dash with a time of 45.65. In the 1,000-meter run, Charlotte Houtz placed first with a time of 3:34.24, Ayleu Mason placed third with a time of 3:46.88 and Hannah Broadwell placed fourth with a time of 3:57.42. In the 1,600-meter run, Mya Baker placed first with a time of 5:43.23, Emily Farrar placed third with a time of 6:45.21 and Rachel Blittle placed fourth with a time of 6:48.53.
