GHS track athletes compete in regionals, states

The Gloucester High School track team recently competed at regionals and states to wrap up the spring season. The following are standout performances from both competitions.

Regionals

Gloucester hosted the Class 5B Outdoor Track Region Championship on May 19 and 20.

In the girls’ 100-meter dash, Deziray Bellinger finished in third place in the preliminary round with a time of 12.47 seconds and fourth place in the finals with a time of 12.69 seconds. Bellinger also competed in the girls’ 200-meter dash where she took sixth in the preliminary round with a time of 26.29 seconds and fifth in the finals with a time of 27.09 seconds.

In the girls’ 400-meter dash, Reese Miller took 15th with a time of 1:04.51.

In the girls’ 800-meter run, Mary VanFossen took sixth place with a time of 2:41.68. Kaylee Hall finished in 11th place, running 2:46.92.
