GHS soccer teams win by mercy rule

The Gloucester High School’s varsity boys’ and girls’ soccer teams won by the mercy rule, beating the Heritage High School Hurricanes by identical 8-0 margins on Tuesday night at home.

In the game, Rylee Amaral recorded a hat trick in the shutout. Aubrey Milawski, Kennadi Tucker, Eva Updike and Kareena Ferguson all scored a goal apiece. The other goal was an own goal by Heritage.

The JV girls were rolling over the last week, beating Poquoson, 5-0, and Heritage, 9-1. The JV boys also took down the Hurricanes with an 8-0 score after defeating Poquoson last week, 1-0.
