GHS runners qualify for state meet

The Gloucester High School boys’ cross country team and three individuals from the girls’ team have qualified to compete in the state meet Nov. 12. Pictured at left is Rylan Allcorn, who became the region runner-up after finishing the meet with a time of 17:21. In photo at right, pictured from left, are Mya Baker (20:34), Mackenzie Alcorn (23:25) and Hannah Broadwell (24:02), who were the only members of the girls’ team to qualify for states. Baker finished second overall, making her the region runner-up.

The Gloucester High School boys’ cross country team and three individuals from the girls’ team qualified to compete in the state meet on Nov. 12 after succeeding in the region meet over the weekend at York River State Park in Williamsburg.

The boys qualified for the state meet by finishing in third place as a team. Rylan Allcorn finished second overall with a time of 17:21. Next for Gloucester was Ty Baker with a finishing time of 18:04, followed by Joel Junker (18:06), A...
