GHS runners place in two events at invitational

The Gloucester High School indoor track and field team traveled to Virginia Beach on Dec. 18 to compete in the Grant Holloway Holiday Invitational at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Coach John Perrin said the team showed great effort in each event, placing with the top 10 in two of them.

In the girls’ 4x800 relay the Gloucester team of Mya Baker, Cori Morgan, Abigail Junker and Emily Shipe placed seventh with a time of 11:20.83. The Dukes also took seventh place in the boys’ 4x800 relay. The team of Ryan Allcorn, Leo Berry, Clayton Miller and Tanner Baker finished with a time of 8:52.31.
