GHS runners dominate 3200m run

Gloucester High School hosted the second Peninsula District track meet of the season last Wednesday, April 20, where Duke runners Tanner Baker, Rylan Allcorn and Joel Junker took first, second and third, respectively, in the varsity boys’ 3200 meter run.

Baker finished the race with a time of 11:29.85, followed by Allcorn (11:30.11) and Junker close behind (11:30.61). Gloucester’s Carter Hill (12:19.49), Joshua Rodriguez-Cruz (12:27.28) and Joel Taylor (12:37.55) also competed, but did not place.

GHS runners Leo Berry, Tyler Hicks, Allcorn and Baker came in first in the boys’ 4x800m relay with a time of 8:38.23.Xavier Johnson, Nasir Baptist, Lathan Taswell and Evan Frazier placed fourth for Gloucester in the 4x100m relay with a time of 47.63. Runners Jayden Ganzenmuller, Sam Blittle, Cayden Felder and Pace Peterson came in fifth for Gloucester in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:09.50.
