GHS indoor track posts top 10 finishes

The Gloucester indoor track and field team, along with dozens of others, traveled to Lexington to compete in the East Coast Elite 2022 event. A number of Dukes took top 10 finishes.

In the varsity boys’ 3200-meter dash, Tanner Baker finished ninth with a time of 10:12.11. In the JV boys’ 55-meter dash, Eli Storrs finished fourth overall with a time of 8.26 seconds. Tyson Ferrie landed at sixth in the 55 and third in the JV boys’ 300m with a time of 8.96 seconds.

The Dukes’ varsity boys’ relay teams for the 4x400 and 4x800 each finished third. The team for the 4x200 finished seventh.

In the varsity girls’ 500-meter dash Reese Miller finished in seventh place with a time of 1:29.66. In the varsity girls’ 3200-meter, she finished seventh with a time of 13:01.13.

In the JV girls’ 55-meter dash, the Dukes saw five athletes finish in the top 10. Amari Hunt (8.81) took fourth, Avery Herring (8.82) took fifth, Peyton Sutton (8.87) took sixth, Ellary Miller (8.94) took seventh, and...
