GHS girls shut out Norview, Menchville

The Gloucester High School girls’ varsity soccer team picked up a pair of wins in recent action, shutting out both Norview and Menchville by scores of 8-0 and 3-0, respectively.

In last Thursday’s Norview game, Caroline Merchant led the Dukes offensively with a hat trick and one assist. Hanna Heaton notched two goals and recorded two assists. Cori Morgan, Mia Hamil and Joelle Forrest scored a goal each. Avery Watkins recorded one assist.

On Tuesday, Aubree Dorsey recorded a hat trick against the Monarchs with two of the scores coming off assists from Heaton. Gloucester’s goalkeeper Bailey Wilson had three saves for the Dukes to keep the Monarchs off the board.

The team’s next games will be a makeup match against Denbigh tonight and then they will travel to Warwick on Tuesday.
