GHS girls head to regionals

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team begins its bid for a regional championship on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Old Dominion University’s Powhatan Field.

The undefeated team received a first round bye in the Region 5B Tournament and will play the winner of the Granby versus Maury game, which will be played Monday. The Dukes will take the field at 5 p.m. on Nov. 3.

If Gloucester wins, the team will play for the region championship on Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. at Powhatan. Winning the regional championship would mean the Dukes would host the state quarterfinal. If they lose, they would travel to Virginia Beach for the next game.
