GHS field hockey remains unbeaten

The Dukes varsity field hockey team has yet to lose a game this season and continued its dominance with a road victories over Nansemond River High School, Salem High School and a home win against Heritage High School over the last week. The pair of wins brings the Dukes to a 12-0 record.

The Dukes allowed one goal against them in its 5-1 victory over the Nansemond River Warriors on Thursday. The scoring for the Dukes was Reese Miller with two. Channy Johnson, Kaylee Hall and Kamryn McDonough each recorded one score. Miller also racked up two assists, with Johnson, Kiley Parker and Ainslee Brown also recording an assist.
Salem High School

The Dukes mopped the floor with the Salem SunDevils on Monday, winning 14-0. Hannah Symonds had a great performance in the game, scoring a team high of four goals and recording an assist. Johnson had a hat trick of her own and a whopping five assists. Miller also scored a hat trick in the game.

Mackenzie Reece scored twice while Avery Watkins and Mason Welsh scored one goal apiece. Hall and McDonough recorded an impressive four assists each; Welsh and Hannah Rippel recorded one assist each.

Heritage High School

On Tuesday, the points continued to rack up for the Dukes who beat the Hurricanes, 18-0. Johnson scored four times in the game and recorded two assists. McDonough had three goals and one assist. Kendall Lands nabbed two goals. Reece recorded two goals and one assist. Hall, Symonds, Bailey Wilson, Caroline Klink, Leigha Germain, Kiley Parker and Abigail Junker all scored once.

Avery Watkins led the team in assists with four. Brown, Symonds, Junker, Miller, Parker and Rippel each recorded an assist each.
