GHS field hockey now 14-0

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team improved to 14-0 with a 10-goal blanking of host Phoebus on Tuesday. The loss dropped the Phantoms to 12-3 on the season.

The Dukes scored three goals in the opening quarter and never looked back. They took 36 shots at the Phoebus goal to bring their season total to 400.

Channy Johnson scored four goals giving her a team-leading 24 on the season. Aubree Dorsey and Lily Perger had two each and Mackenzi Reece and Reese Miller each scored a goal. Scoring assists were contributed by Kamryn McDonough, Aura Griggs, Chrissy Masiak, Alexis Adams, Johnson, Dorsey, Miller and Perger.

Gloucester earned 25 penalty corners and executed well. The Dukes now have 229 corners on the year.Prior to this win, Gloucester beat the hosts at Prince George High School, 2-0, last Thursday and defeated visiting Maury, 4-0, on Oct. 13 in a Region 5B match-up.
