GHS crew

The Gloucester High School crew finished out the season competing in the EVSRA (Eastern Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association) Championship Regatta in Elizabeth City, N.C., on April 29, taking home a first place in the Men’s Novice 4+ and in the Middle School Boys’ Novice 4+ with respectable finishes in the girls’ double and single boats. GHS rowers also competed in numerous events in the May 6 Mathews Regatta at Williams Wharf where both teams’ MN4+ boats took first- and third-place finishes, the Men’s Novice 8+ placed second, the girls placed third in Women’s Novice 4+ and the Mixed 4+ took a third-place finish. Braxten Abelar, Danelle LaCosa, Graisen Abelar, Jack Gibson; back row, Tristen Buswell, Josh Littlefield, Jacob Gross, Cooper White, Ezra Ward, Zachary Hudson, and, not pictured, Carter Blankenship, Willis Redding, Cohen Ogle and Stella White. The team was coached by Zach Moore and Rachel Witt.
