GHS boys’ soccer posts wins over Manor, New Kent

The Gloucester High School varsity boys’ soccer team shut out the visitors from Manor last Thursday, 8-0.

Five of the GHS goals came in the first half. Kohlby Wilson opened the scoring with an assist from Tyler Welch. Wilson would go on to score once more in the first half, picking up his hat trick in the second.

Tanner Bailey also scored two first-half goals, with assists from Max Bell and Carter Thompson; Gavin Blanks scored the other first-half goal.

In addition to Wilson (whose second-half goal came off an assist from Jess Manheim), Bell and Manheim also scored to complete the shutout. Manheim and Justin Pence shared goalkeeper duties, holding Manor scoreless.

New Kent

The Dukes returned to the field on Monday, where they snagged another win, 3-1, against New Kent in an away game. In the first half, Ryan Williams scored a goal with an assist from Gavin Seitz.
