GHS athletes turn in season best times at state

The Gloucester High School track and field teams competed at the VHSL Class 4 State Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend at Liberty University in Lynchburg. The team performed well to finish off their last meet of the season. “It was a good weekend to finish off the season. Out of eight events, we had five season best performances. It was amazing to see them enjoying the moment for what it was,” said head coach Stanley Hundley. The results for the girls included a 12th-place finish by Deziray Bellinger in the 200-meter run clocking a 26.23. Bellinger also ran a 13.20 in the 100-meter dash. Mya Baker ran a 2:27.93 in the 800-meter run. Baker also competed in the 3200-meter run to clock a season’s best time of 11:48.16. The 4x800-meter relay team ran a season best time of 10:21.93. The results for the boys included Rylan Allcorn placing ninth with a season’s best time of 4:25.14 in the 1600-meterrun. In the 3200-meter run, Aiden Pincince ran a season best time of 10:11...
