The Gloucester High School indoor track and field team competed in the 2022 Francena McCorory Indoor Invitational on Jan. 28 at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton. Both the girls’ and boys’ 4x800 relay teams took first place in their respective events. The girls finished with a time of 11:34.05 and the boys finished with a time of 9:01.55. The boys’ relay team also took fourth in the 4x400 by running a 4:02.38. The girls’ 4x200 relay team finished fourth with a time of 2:05.35. In the girls’ 1000-meter run, Mya Baker took second with a time of 3:20.87 while Emily Shipe finished in fifth with a time of 3:44.93. In the 500-meter run, Kaylee Hall took fourth place with a time of 1:32.77. Reese Miller took third in the girls’ triple jump with a distance of 29-1.75. In the boys’ 1000-meter run, Tanner Baker finished second with a time of 2:42.62 and Rylan Allcorn finished in third with a time of 2:46.23.
