GHS athletes compete in Peninsula District meet

The Gloucester High School track team competed in its second Peninsula District meet at Gloucester High School on Wednesday, April 17, hosted by Bethel High School.

On the girls’ side, the 4x800 meter relay of Hannah Symmonds, Peyton Price, Hannah Ridings, and Hailee Jorgensen placed second with a time of 11:53.51. In the shot put, Jahdai Donald placed second with a throw of 30’4”, Payton Timmons placed 16th with a throw of 23’10.5” and Alyvia Wermter placed 22nd with a throw of 20’3”. Jenna Seaton placed first in the JV 100-meter dash with a time of 14.28.

In the varsity girls’ 100-meter dash, Deziray Bellinger placed fourth with a time of 13.06, Amari Hunt placed 17th with a time of 14.06, Tai Sewell placed 23rd with a time of 14.31. In the 1600-meter mile, Mya Baker placed first with a time of 5:30.95, Kayla Turner placed fourth with a time of 6:11.99 and Rachel Blittle placed sixth with a time of 6:18.67.
