GHS athletes compete in indoor track district meet

A number of Gloucester High School indoor track team members placed in their individual events during the Jan. 11 Peninsula District Meet #2 in Hampton.

Girls

In the girls’ 55-meter dash, Deziray Bellinger took second place with a time of 7.66 seconds.

In the 300-meter dash, Reese Miller took sixth, running 47.3 seconds. Ahjahnae Jackson took eighth with 48.31. In the girls’ 1,000-meter dash, Hannah Broadwell finished in second place with a time of 3:43.61. Abigail Junker finished in third with a time of 3:46.74. McKayla Clark took fifth running 3:53.18. Mary VanFossen finished in seventh with a time of 3:54.19.

In the 1,600-meter run, Mya Baker claimed first place with a time of 5:31.71. Charlotte Houtz grabbed second place with a time of 5:59.35. Madilyn Kadel finished in fifth running 6:50.8 and Caroline Klink took sixth with a time of 6:59.08. Hailey Pena-Hawk took eight and Adyson Jeffery took ninth running 7:19.71 and 7:27.03 respectively.
